The development is located in Kilkenny, c.100km south west of Dublin, 155km north east of Cork and 130km east of Limerick. It has a population of 103,685, is situated on the River Nore and is a popular tourist destination.

The campus is situated c. 3.5km south of Kilkenny city centre, immediately south of the Kells Road roundabout connecting the Waterford Road and the Dublin/Waterford Motorway, and the N10/M9 Dublin/Waterford Motorway/Ring Road System which by-passes Kilkenny City to the east.
